Brock's Baptism
Brock's Baptism was a few weeks ago and he handled it like a champ. What else would you expect from this kid?! We flew home visited with friends and family and Brock got to meet his God Parents. It was a great weekend!

5 months
Oh how time flies when you’re having fun. 5 months ago we were sitting silently on the couch watching our shows, sleeping whenever we wanted to, going out without a plan. 5 months ago I was thinking "I'm going to be a Mom next week!" 5 months ago I headed to Winnie Palmer Hospital in fear because I had not felt the little man move all day.5 months ago we welcomed our sweet little man into the world a few days early. Now here we are with a little man who is almost 1/2 a year young!
Here's what you've been up to this month:
•You moved up a class at daycare. You in a room full of sitters, crawlers and real food eaters! You LOVE your new teachers and friends. You have so much fun watching the big kids but you get frustrated because you're not quite there yet.
•You’re teething. You love anything you can get in your mouth, but you prefer blankets and burp clothes. Yesterday I caught you with your sock in your mouth!
•Your wearing 6-9 month clothing, size 2 shoes, and size 2 diapers.
•Your sleep is getting better and better. You usually wake up once around 3 up for the day around 7, ready to play.
•You love your toys, especially the ones that light up. I think your Exersaucer is your current favorite.
•You eat two meals a day, along with your milk, fruit for breakfast and a veggie for lunch. Green beans and peas are not your friend. So far you like bananas, sweet potatoes and squash.
•You have outgrown your bouncer. You figured out how to pull yourself up and I have come back in the room to find you leaning all the way forward with your hands on the floor. You’re out little Houdini.
•You are ticklish on the sides of your tummy. Daddy is best at getting your tickle spot.
•Your not yet crawling, but you can get to where you’re going by rolling and scooting.
•You can almost sit up.
•You’re baptized.
•You’re a very happy and active baby. You’re silly and laid back. You have a huge personality. Just one look at you and the troubles in the world are washed away.

Brock's moving up :(
Today is Brock's last day in Infant A. Monday he officially starts in Infant B! They started transitioning him on Wednesday to the "big kid class" and he's doing great. When they told me they had to move him up early to make room for the little babies I freaked out! What do they mean the "little babies" he IS a little baby! He's my little baby! He's not even the oldest one in his class but he's apparently the most developmentally ready. He's eating solids, sitting supported, scooting and he loves the exersaucer so I guess it's bye bye Ms. Maria :(
Speaking of solids...

Don't sweet potatoes just look like so much fun?! Brock loves eating real food. He's now getting bananas for breakfast, sweet potatoes for lunch and rice cereal for dinner along with his bottles of course. People always say they grow up too fast... but holy shit! Slow down buddy! Mommy's not ready for this!

Solids?!
Haha! Solids! I have no words for this experience. All I can do is laugh!

So far so good!

Urm.... You're not going to put that in my mouth are you?!

I guess this is okay...

Mom... I don't think I like this!

Okay! STOP! I REALLY HATE THIS!!!
Poor guy! Maybe we will try oatmeal or just skip this step all together and go to something with flavor!

4 months
Dear Brock,
You are 4 months old now and you’re thriving! You’re just a little guy right now but I know I’ll blink and you’re going to be a big boy. You weighed just 13 lbs 4 oz’s (10th percentile) at your 4 month check up and you were 23 inches long. You’re such a little peanut but you will move mountains! You have started eating solids but only rice cereal for now. Your Doctor said you’re ready for fruits and veggies but I think we’ll wait a few more weeks for that! You’re so big and strong! You can sit with just a little help from Mommy or Daddy. You don’t like to be in one place for too long. Darn it! You have places to go and people to see! You just started scooting this week!!! Before we know it you’re going to be a crawler! I’m pretty sure you have your first girlfriend. Her name is Lucy and she’s the prettiest girl in your class. You love when Ms. Maria and Ms. Debbie put you on the mat for tummy time so that you can scoot on over to Lucy and flirt. You are your father’s son! You are very social, happy and funny. You love to people watch just like your mommy. You will talk to anyone who will listen and you love to laugh. You think your daddy is a pretty funny guy but I’m sure you just think he’s funny looking! You are so incredibly loved. These have been the best 4 months of my life and I’m looking forward to watching you grow in to the amazing person I know you will be.
I love you buddy!

Such a trooper
My poor baby has had the stomach flu since last Friday. I'm so proud of him though. Even through the diarrhea and wicked diaper rash he's still an amazing kid. One little grin and my entire day is better. I hope you feel better soon buddy! Mommy loves you!

Before I was a Mom...
Before I was a Mom: I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom: I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night to watch a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom: I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt! I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never know I could love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom: I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside of my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Mom: I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every ten minutes to make sure all was ok. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

We have the perfect baby!
Not to brag or anything.... But we have the perfect baby. He has been so happy and fun lately and to top it off he is now going to bed between 8 & 9 and sleeping until I wake him up for daycare in the morning! How did we get so lucky?! I'm sure he will be raising hell in a few years to make up for his pure awesomeness now!
That's all. I'm done being "that Mom". For today.....
